Your privacy is important to Project Life Changer (“we”, “us”, “our). 

This Privacy Policy discloses how we collect, protect, use and share Personal Information gathered from users of the Project Life Changer website and/or our other digital sites (the “Platform”). We will comply with the Privacy Act 2020 (the “Act”) in relation to our use of your Personal Information.

By accessing and using the Platform, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by it.

Personal Information may be gathered via the Platform as follows:

  1. Directly from you via the Platform (such as when you register on the Platform to become a member); 

  2. As requested by us by other means; and/or

  3. Indirectly (such as through cookies).

What type of information do we collect? 

Personal Information is any information about an identifiable individual. Personal Information may include but is not limited to: identifying information such as your name, the name and nature of your business, financial and transactional data such as credit card details, telephone number and e-mail address. Where the collection of Personal Information is necessary, you will be aware that such information is required because you will have to provide personal details when using the Platform. The Personal Information that you submit is gathered only on a voluntary basis; you may choose not to provide Personal Information which may mean that you are unable to use the services relating to the Platform. 

In order to register as a member on the Platform, you will be required to provide us with Personal Information. Such information may include your full name, the name and nature of your business, financial and transactional data such as credit card details, telephone number and e-mail address and other information requested on the Platform. Whether you provide such information is voluntary and at your discretion, however, if you choose not to provide such information, you may not be able to register as a member on the Platform. This information may be made visible to other members (as applicable) on the Platform. 

Our use of your Personal Information

You acknowledge and agree that we may use the Personal Information you provide us: 

  • to allow us to list you as a member on the Platform;

  • to gather such Personal Information to allow us to facilitate your use of the Platform as a member on the Platform; 

  • to share such Personal Information with general third-party users of the Platform (each a “General User”) on the Platform to allow them to make contact with you as a member;

  • to communicate with you;

  • to service providers to administer, improve and develop the Platform, and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;

  • for any other purpose authorised by you or the Act;

  • to contact you if there is any change in details in relation to the Platform. 

Third Parties / Links to other websites

The Platform will provide links to the services and products of third-party providers (including members of the Platform). Where you use the services or products or provide information or access a third-party website through the Platform, use of any information collected from you will be subject to the privacy policy of the website you are visiting or otherwise the provider of the services or products. 

We do not control the websites of third parties or their privacy practices. We do not endorse or make any representations about third party websites. The personal data you choose to give to third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company or website before submitting your Personal Information. Some third parties may choose to share their personal data with us; that sharing is governed by that third party’s privacy policy.

There may be times when we disclose your personal information to third parties. If we do this, we will only disclose your information to:

  • those who provide to us products or services that support the services that we provide, such as our suppliers and third parties that assist us with our marketing and promotion;

  • credit reference agencies, who may share your information with other organisations;

  • our credit card and debit card payment processing agents;

  • debt collection agencies or companies, in order to collect any money owing by you to us;

  • anyone we transfer our business to in respect of which you are a customer or a potential customer;

  • anyone who assists us in protecting the operation of our networks and systems, including the use of monitoring and detection in order to identify potential threats, such as hacking and virus dissemination;

  • persons to whom we may be required to pass your information by reason of legal, governmental or regulatory authority including law enforcement agencies;

  • aggregated user statistics and other information that does not personally identify you, to third parties such as our advertisers, customers, potential customers and partners;

  • any person or organisation as authorised by the Privacy Act 1993.

By using the Platform and providing your Personal Information on the Platform, you consent and agree to us passing on, transferring or sharing your personal information to the third parties listed above (as applicable). From time to time, this may involve the transfer or sharing of your personal information with third parties based outside of New Zealand for the purpose of data storage or google analytics (“Overseas Sharing of Information”). Prior to any Overseas Sharing of Information, we will ensure that the third party that is to receive such information is either:

  • subject to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 because that third party also does business in New Zealand; and/or

  • is subject to privacy laws that provide comparable safeguards to the Privacy Act 2020; and/or

  • under contractual obligations to protect such information in a way that is comparable to the safeguards required under the Privacy Act 2020; and/or

  • is covered by a binding scheme or is subject to the privacy laws of a country prescribed by the New Zealand Government. 

Cookies Internet Users 

In addition to Personal Information, we may use data collection devices such as "cookies" on the Platform to help analyse our web page flow and measure promotional effectiveness. Cookies are pieces of information a website sends to an individual’s hard drive while they are viewing the website. Cookies allow the website to remember important information that will make your visit to the Platform (as applicable) more useful. We use cookies to help improve your future visits.

Storage, Retention and Accuracy of Personal Information 

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Information is safeguarded against loss, access, use, modification, disclosure or other misuse. All reasonable steps are taken to prevent unauthorised use or disclosure of your Personal Information. 

We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws and your consent to such purpose(s) remains valid after termination of our relationship with you. 

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading.

Changes to our Privacy Policy 

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time by changing or removing existing terms or adding new ones.  Changes may take the form of a completely new Privacy Policy.  We will advise any changes by posting an update of the Privacy Policy on the Platform.  Any change we make applies from the date we post the same on the Platform. By using the Platform, after the publication of any amended Privacy Policy, you are agreeing to be bound by the new / amended Privacy Policy.
